Horiba Test Automation Ltd (HTA) is a UK based, globally distributed company producing software to automate test activities in the powertrain development sector. Our software platforms address automation of engines, powertrains, vehicles and component test rigs, and enterprise level process automation and data management.

At test rig level, our software provides functionality to control and monitor test rigs, and acquire, analyse and manage test data. Installations range from single test stands to large numbers of test stands and office systems integrated into in a test field based cluster.

At enterprise level, our web based platform provides a modular, expansible toolbox of apps, leveraging a flexible and secure data persistence layer.

HORIBA companies around the world package the STARS software into systems and deliver these to our customers. This technical support role provides internal support to these HORIBA delivery teams and, on occasion, direct customer facing support to augment local delivery team capability.  The role can also include an element of test application development, using the extensive applications toolset built into the STARS automation platform.

The role is based at our Worcester office but involves occasional visits to customer sites. Site activities will predominantly be at UK locations, but as HTA software products are sold to a global customer base, our support engineers may be asked to visit any region of the world for short periods.  A significant degree of autonomy is involved this role and a high degree of personal responsibility is expected.

Experience should include:

  • Understanding and direct experience of test automation systems and automotive development testing in engine, powertrain and vehicle development areas. This may have been acquired be as part of an end user organisation or as a supplier of test solutions.
  • Awareness of web based software solutions
  • Experience and personal interest in IT
  • Competence in working with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in using scripting or some other application oriented programming technology.
  • Familiarity with the Linux operating system would be an advantage
  • Awareness of software technologies
