A vacancy has arisen for a Project Manager to work within the UK business at our Harwell or Warrington office.

Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Safe delivery of the project to quality, time and cost
  • Management of all contractual issues arising from the project, in accordance with the appropriate procedures and within his delegated level of authority
  • Producing, updating, progressing, monitoring, recovery and issue of the Project Programme
  • Management, control, forecast and monitoring of all costs associated with the project
  • Monitoring site progress against planned work
  • Ensuring that the interfaces between different groups contributing to the project are correctly monitored and managed. This includes:
    • technical support from headquarters-based experts
    • consultants and contractors
    • site based activities
  • Ensuring that all project risks are identified and properly managed by owning and maintaining the project risk register
  • Producing, reviewing and updating the PIP
  • Ensuring that the correct technical input is incorporated into each work package and that all technical documentation is approved by the relevant Technical Council
  • Ensuring that the scope of the work packages is adequately defined
  • Establishing and managing a system of recording, tracking and progressing all project documentation.

  • Experience in project start up and mobilisation
  • Experience of driving a project to cost and time
  • Knowledge and experience in a commercial environment e.g. NEC Contracts 
  • An understanding of risk management in project delivery
  • Leadership and people management experience
  • Ability to motivate and influence
  • Ability to work under time pressure
  • Experience in managing stakeholders
  • Ability to think and plan strategically
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
  • Drive and determination
  • Self-reliant
  • Fluent English language skills, written and spoken


  • Degree qualified in an engineering or technical subject
  • Professional qualification from a project management institution
  • Experience Bidding and Managing Projects within the UK Nuclear Industry
  • Experience Bidding for and Managing On-site Decommissioning Projects
  • Experience Bidding for and Managing On-site Installation Projects
  • Experience Managing Blue Collar Ops Teams
