Resource Economist

Plymouth

£31509 - £39218 dependant on experience

Full Time – Open Ended Appointment.

Plymouth Marine Laboratory is looking to recruit a Natural Resource Economist to join our Sea & Society Science area to undertake resource economics research related to natural capital and ecosystem services in the marine environment and its ecosystems.  

Key Deliverables:

 

  • Undertake resource economics research in areas related to natural capital and ecosystem services in the marine environment and its ecosystems
  • Support delivery of existing UKRI GCRF projects: Blue Communities and Solstice
  • Produce peer reviewed publications and presentations of research results.    
  • Develop productive interdisciplinary working collaborations with other natural and social scientists at PML towards joint publications and securing funding

Experience & Eligibility

You will have

  • 3-5 years’ experience within natural resource economics
  • A flexible approach and an ability to manage your time to work within a number of research projects  
  • A masters qualification, PhD or evidence of equivalent experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff in multiple disciplines.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in natural resource economics related to the marine environment and its ecosystems
  • Experience in resource economics modelling
  • Programming skills to support modelling and/or econometrics
