Position One: full time (37 hours a week) Hours: 0730 - 1600 Mon-Fri

Position Two: part time (15 hours a week) Hours: 1600 - 1900 Mon-Fri

£17,895, pro-rated for part time 


Job Purpose:

PML is recruiting a full time cleaner (37 hours a week) and part time cleaner (15 hours a week) to join the Technical Services Group. These roles are to clean offices, communal spaces, meeting rooms, toilets and corridors across all PML sites and assist with wider TSG duties including grounds maintenance and driving. Offices will be cleaned on a rota, toilets and corridors will be cleaned daily and bins emptied daily. Deep cleans will also take place periodically throughout the year. These roles cover both sites: Prospect Place and Oceansgate.  We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are able to work as part of a team but also individually. Previous cleaning experience is essential.


Key Deliverables:

  • Carry out intensive and detailed cleaning work to offices spaces, communal spaces, meetings rooms, toilets and corridors at all PML sites. This includes vacuuming, dusting, mopping and scrubbing of floors, surfaces, sills, pipework and toilets.
  • Periodically deep clean offices spaces, communal spaces, meetings rooms, toilets and corridors at all PML sites.
  • Assist the TSG Group when required. This may include office moves, driving, providing assistance with deliveries and moving items between PML sites.
  • Assist the TSG Group when required with grounds maintenance including mowing, strimming, sweeping, litter picking and power washing.
  • Being proactive at dealing with cleaning issues and being effective at time management.
  • Being able to prioritise tasks but also reactive when urgent cleaning is required.


Experience & Eligibility Requirements

You must have

  • Active cleaning experience in an industrial/science environment. Previous use of a variety of equipment and experience cleaning large areas.
  • NVQ level 2 in cleaning desirable
  • Able to complete basic online training modules.
  • Able to complete stock takes and advise the Technical Services Assistant before items run out.
  • Good oral skills and a 'people-person', able to deal with enquiries in a helpful and friendly manner. Basic written skills.
  • A reasonable level of autonomy to be able to prioritise tasks. If unsure ask another member of the TSG team. Decisions regarding stock purchase and contract agreements are for the Buildings and Facilities Manager.
  • Flexibly across all PML sites and part of the TSG team. Direct contact with all PML employees.
  • Full clean driving licence
